Relockr Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 3, 2026
Relockr is a screen time management app and privacy-focused browser for iOS, and a web browser extension. We are an independent company based in Alberta, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
We believe your data belongs to you. Most of Relockr’s functionality works with data stored entirely on your device, and any online data storage is strictly opt-in. We designed Relockr to give you the insights you need about your screen time without compromising your privacy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
By default, Relockr stores all of the following information locally on your device and does not transmit it to our servers:
- Browsing history. The websites you visit through the Relockr browser.
- App usage data. Which apps you open and how long you use them.
- Screen time metrics. Session durations, daily totals, and usage patterns.
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly opt in to cloud sync (see Section 1.3).
1.2 Subscription and Account Information
We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. When you subscribe to Relockr, RevenueCat processes and stores the following on our behalf:
- Device identifier. A unique identifier associated with your device for managing entitlements.
- User ID. An anonymous or account-based identifier used to link your subscription status.
- Purchase history. Records of your subscription transactions, plan type, and renewal status.
RevenueCat’s handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review at revenuecat.com/privacy.
1.3 Optional Cloud Sync (Opt-In Only)
We plan to offer an optional cloud sync feature powered by Supabase that allows you to store your usage data online and sync it across your devices. This feature will be entirely opt-in.
If you choose to enable it, the following data may be stored on Supabase’s servers:
- Browsing history, app usage data, and screen time metrics (the same data otherwise stored only on your device).
You will be clearly informed before enabling this feature. You can disable cloud sync at any time and request deletion of your cloud-stored data.
1.4 Anonymized Diagnostics and Analytics
We collect anonymized diagnostic information to help us improve Relockr’s performance and stability. This may include:
- Crash reports and error logs that do not contain personally identifiable information.
- Aggregated usage statistics, such as which features are most frequently used, device type, operating system version, and app version.
This data is collected in a way that cannot be used to identify you individually. We do not link diagnostics data to your browsing history, app usage, or any personal identifier.
1.5 Search
Relockr uses DuckDuckGo as its default search engine. When you perform a search, your query is sent to DuckDuckGo, and DuckDuckGo’s privacy policy applies to how that search is handled. DuckDuckGo does not track your searches or build a personal profile based on your search history. We do not receive, store, or have access to your search queries.
1.6 Web Extension
When using the Relockr web extension, the same principles apply: screen time and browsing data are stored locally in the browser by default.
The extension does not transmit your browsing activity to our servers unless you have opted into cloud sync. The extension may collect the same anonymized diagnostics described in Section 1.4.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate Relockr’s features, including screen time tracking, app usage monitoring, and browsing.
- To manage your subscription and verify your access to premium features via RevenueCat.
- To improve our product by analyzing anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage trends.
- To enable optional cloud sync if and when you choose to activate it.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build personal profiles for ad targeting.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold any personal information and have no plans to do so.
We share limited data with the following third-party service providers solely to operate Relockr:
- RevenueCat — processes subscription and purchase data as described in Section 1.2.
- Supabase — if you opt in to cloud sync, stores your usage data as described in Section 1.3.
- DuckDuckGo — processes your search queries when you use the built-in search functionality.
- Anonymized analytics providers — may receive aggregated, non-identifiable diagnostic data.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process, though as described above, we hold very limited personal information.
4. Data Storage and Security
Local data is stored on your device using the security mechanisms provided by iOS and your web browser. We do not have access to locally stored data.
If you enable cloud sync, your data will be stored on Supabase’s infrastructure. Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
RevenueCat stores subscription-related data on its own secure infrastructure. Please refer to RevenueCat’s privacy policy and security documentation for details.
5. Data Retention
- Local data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud-synced data: Retained for as long as you maintain an active account with cloud sync enabled.
- Subscription data: Managed by RevenueCat and retained according to their policies and applicable legal requirements.
- Anonymized diagnostics data: Retained only as long as necessary to analyze trends and improve the product.
Because anonymized diagnostic data cannot be linked back to you, it does not identify you personally.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your personal information.
- Correction. You can request corrections to inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of cloud sync. You can disable cloud sync at any time from the app settings.
Because most data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it. You can clear your browsing history, app usage data, and screen time metrics at any time through the app.
To exercise any of these rights for data we do hold, please contact us using the information in Section 10.
7. Canadian Privacy Law
Relockr is operated by a company based in Alberta, Canada. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Under these laws, we collect, use, and disclose personal information only with your knowledge and consent, and only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate.
If you enable cloud sync, your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside of Canada. In such cases, your data may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where those servers are located. By opting into cloud sync, you consent to this transfer.
8. Children’s Privacy
Relockr is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Parents and guardians may use Relockr’s screen time features to monitor and manage their children’s device usage. Any data collected for this purpose is stored locally on the device by default and is not transmitted to our servers unless cloud sync is enabled.
9. Third-Party Websites and Services
When you navigate to websites through the Relockr browser, leave our app, or follow links, the privacy policies of those third-party websites and services apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites or services that we do not operate.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
